THE SALONE ASSOCIATION IN SWITZERLAND
PLAN INTERNATIONAL/NEIL BRANDVOLD
The ebola virus disease is ravaging Sierra Leone and depriving many children of their parents. By mid-January 2015, 15,258 children were affected by the ebola crisis, with 7,968 children having lost one or both parents to the disease. Ebola orphans suffer stigmatization and are shunned even by extended family members. Please help to give these children a secure future by donating to the Salone Association’s Fund for Ebola Orphans.
SUPPORT THE EBOLA ORPHANS
The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone’s Mission in Geneva, Her Excellency Mrs. Yvette Stevens, has been active in mobilizing support for the fight against the ebola disease. In this interview with Caritas, she discusses the effects of the ebola crisis on Sierra Leone's economy and society.
Recent Donations
In December 2014, the Salone Association supported two projects related to the fight against the ebola virus disease in Sierra Leone.
The first was a financial donation of USD4,000 to Rotary Club of Sierra Leone, helping with plans to construct an orphanage with a health centre, school and playground that will host 240 children.
The second was a charity concert for ebola orphans in Sierra Leone organized in collaboration with Caritas Geneva and the Sierra Leone Mission in Geneva.
